Multipoint Locking Systems
- Multipoint locking systems are the most common type of lock of UPVC and
composite doors and feature multiple locking points along with the frame of the
door.
- They are operated by inserting your key into the door's euro cylinder and turning
the handle either up or down. Multipoint locks provide a higher level of security
than a door with a deadbolt and prevent large doors from warping.
Slam Shut & Key Operated Locks
- Generally designed to be used with pull bars and finger pulls, slam shut locks do
not have level handles and multipoint hooks that are used to secure the door.
- Instead, to secure your door from the inside, operate the key or thumb turn. To
secure the door from the outside, you must pull the door shut, which will cause all
the hooks to engage, leaving you to turn the key and engage the deadlock.
